Bayern Munich have secured victory in the German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund, with a late goal from Robert Lewandowski securing a 2-1 win for the Bavarians.
The match was a closely contested affair, with both sides creating chances throughout the game. However, it was Bayern who eventually took the lead through a fine strike from Serge Gnabry in the first half. Dortmund responded quickly though, and levelled things up before half-time thanks to a clinical finish from Jadon Sancho.
In the second half, Dortmund continued to press for an equaliser but Bayern held firm. The visitors had a few chances to take the lead, but were unable to find the back of the net. That all changed in the dying moments of the match when Lewandowski headed home from close range to give Bayern the lead once again.
The win means that Bayern will be looking to defend their Bundesliga title this season, while Dortmund will look to bounce back from defeat. It was a thrilling match from start to finish, with both teams showing great skill and determination on the pitch.
